INDIAN RIVER COUNTY METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION

Statement of Function

The Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), formed in April 1993, is a legislative agency responsible for transportation planning in the urbanized area of Indian River County. It has the power to develop and adopt plans and to set priorities for the programming of improvements to the County's transportation system. Funding is through a Joint Participation Agreement for Federal PL/Section 112 funding. This is an agreement between FDOT and the MPO, which provides for the pass through of these federal funds. Dollars are approved on an annual basis. The percentage of Federal, State and local dollars varies from year to year.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization's (IRCMPO) Annual Obligations Listing for Fiscal year 2006/2007 is available to the public. In compliance with the Safe Accountable Flexible Efficient Transportation Equity Act - a Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), which requires a listing of all projects for which Federal funds have been obligated in the preceding year, a list was prepared by the Federal Department of Transportation (FDOT) Federal Aid Office for the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization. The list includes project names, locations, FDOT financial management project numbers, type of work to be performed, and funding levels. A copy of the Annual Obligations Listing may be obtained here or copy may be obtained by writing to Phillip Matson, MPO Staff Director, 1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or call (772) 226-1455.
