Conservation Planning - Conservation planning assistance helps the landuser to make management decisions based on practical considerations. The plan includes: environmental evaluation, planning maps and soils information, record of landuser's decisions, nutrient and pest management, and technical information. Growers are encouraged to use Best Management Practices (BMPs) in their plans of operation.

Soil Survey - The soil survey is a publication which contains information that can be used in land planning programs in Indian River County. It provides maps, descriptions of soils and tables of predictions of soil behavior for selected land uses. It is a valuable tool for farmers, ranchers, planners, builders, conservationists, teachers, and students.

Irrigation Design - A land users crop irrigation requirements can be evaluated and recommendations made as to type of irrigation that will efficiently satisfy those requirements. Low volume, seepage, solid set, and capillary systems have been successfully implemented throughout the county.

Drainage Design - Land users crop growth requirements will at times need to remove excess water during the growing season. Field ditches, ditches, and culvert pipe design and sizing are part of the Conservation Planning system.

Water Table Observation Wells - The district  has built and installed over 800 water table observation wells(WTOW) in citrus groves in the county. WTOW's assist growers in monitoring the upward movement of water through the root zone, to augment irrigation requirements.

Tensiometers - Tensiometers guide you in maintaining soil moisture content. The District lends tensiometers to growers to assist them in their irrigation water management program. Additionally growers can bring their tensiometers to the office where staff can calibrate them.

Pond Design - In cooperation with the Indian River county community development department, as part of the permitting process, the district provides pond designs which include soils information, quantity available for house pads, roads, and fill. Additional information on pond maintenance and aquaculture is available in the office.

Flood Maps - National Flood Insurance Program maps are available for viewing to determine locations of flood zones.

Wetland Maps - National wetland inventory maps provide details as to the location and type of wetlands in the county. These maps are available for viewing.

Historical Aerial Photographs - Department of Transportation aerial photos from 1943, 1951, 1957, 1971, 1980, 1984-85, and 1991 are available for viewing.

Topographical Maps - "Topo" maps show elevations and drainage systems. Available for viewing.

General Information - Numerous brochures, fact sheets, resources, etc. are on display in the office.
